Human rights due diligence is the ongoing process of identifying, preventing, mitigating, and accounting for adverse human rights impacts in a company’s own operations and value chain. Rooted in the UN Guiding Principles and the OECD Guidelines, it becomes a binding legal duty for large companies under the CSDDD, with civil liability attached to failures.
