A whistleblowing channel is the internal reporting route through which people can raise breaches of law confidentially, with protection from retaliation. The EU Whistleblower Directive — in Sweden implemented by visselblåsarlagen — obliges private employers with 50 or more workers to run one, with acknowledgement within seven days, feedback within three months, designated impartial handlers, and strict confidentiality of the reporter’s identity.
