Accreditation

Published Reviewed

Accreditation is the formal recognition by a national accreditation body that a certification body, laboratory, or inspection body is competent to perform specific assessments — the layer that makes certificates trustworthy. In Sweden the accreditation body is Swedac. A certificate from an unaccredited issuer may be worthless to customers and authorities, so checking the accreditation behind a certificate is a basic supplier-vetting step.
