AI literacy

AI literacy is the EU AI Act’s requirement that providers and deployers ensure their staff and others operating AI systems on their behalf have sufficient skills, knowledge, and understanding of the systems and their risks. The duty applies regardless of the risk class of the AI in use and has applied since February 2025, making role-appropriate AI training one of the first concrete obligations most companies meet under the Act.
