Conformity assessment

Published Reviewed

Conformity assessment is the process of demonstrating that a product, service, or system meets specified legal or standard requirements before it is placed on the market or put into service. Depending on the regime it ranges from a manufacturer’s internal control to examination by an independent notified body. The EU AI Act, the Cyber Resilience Act, and classic CE product law all hang their market-access decisions on it.
