Deforestation-free

Published Reviewed

Deforestation-free is the EUDR’s core condition: relevant products may only be placed on the EU market if they were produced on land that has not been deforested after 31 December 2020, and wood products must additionally come from harvesting that did not cause forest degradation. The claim must be substantiated per plot of origin through the due diligence process — certification schemes can support the assessment but do not replace it.
