Geolocation (EUDR)

Geolocation under the EUDR means the coordinates of every plot of land where a relevant commodity was produced — a single point for plots under four hectares, a polygon outline for larger ones. The coordinates travel with the due diligence statement so authorities can check the plots against satellite imagery for deforestation after the 2020 cut-off date. Collecting reliable plot data from suppliers is, for most companies, the hardest part of EUDR compliance.
